Christmas came a few days early this year. Mamma got me an Edward Wohl cutting board from Heath Ceramics. It's the perfect size and Edward used his signature bird's eye maple to craft this piece. The wood is very smooth and pristine and I was a little nervous to make my first cut but it felt great once I got the nerve to do it. It was probably what it must feel like to be a sick skater and get a new deck and grind a gnarly rail. I made a juice with carrots, apples, celery, kale, and parsley. Edward recommends using one side for cutting and the other for serving. After reading that knowledge nugget I felt ready to get my chef's knife and get going. Seems like he's got a very chill attitude and I love that he plays tennis in the afternoon.

Sharpcuterie/Cheese Nerds

Charcuterie (pronounced /ʃɑrˌkuːtəˈriː/, /ʃɑrˈkuːtəri/; French: [ʃaʁkytʁi], from chair 'flesh' and cuit 'cooked')

I went to WF to get some charcuterie to go along with some exquisite wine that Brelby were going to open. I went to the meat/cheese counter and told him that I wanted to pick up some charcut... "charcuterie?" says the self proclaimed cheese nerd. Upon hearing him refer to himself as a cheese nerd I felt very comfortable that I would get a nice selection of meat and cheese to snack on. I told him I wanted prosciutto and whatever else he thought would go well with a syrah.




I let him do his magic and I went to drop a quick deuce and this is what I found in the bathroom near the sink after I left my deposit. Sharps! I wish I would have thought of this.

When I went to pick up my charcuterie the cheese nerd had picked out four cold cuts for me. 1) Rosemary Ham 2) Turkey Pastrami 3) Amazingly Delish Salami (brett please fill us in on what that was) 4) Peppered Honey Roun. No prosciutto! All of these meat baggies were approx 8 bucks each. I will never trust a cheese nerd again. He hadn't even picked out cheese for me. I asked him for prosciutto again and asked him about the cheese. He picked out a really good blue (a little help, brett) and an ok triple creme brie. 


Should cheese nerds ever be trusted with anything but cheese?

I told the cheese nerd I wanted some charcuterie and cheese for a little wine pairing. The cheese nerd gave me fixings to make a nice sandwich. No vision.


Do you tell the cheese nerd that you don't want the meat or do you ditch it in another refrigerated aisle? 

Expresso

I made an expresso this morning on my Nexpresso. I had a caramel expresso. It was good, but I think I miss my manual expresso machine. I feel like this expresso machine doesn't make strong expressos. But I don't remember anymore if my manual expresso machine makes stronger expressos.

Does expresso have more caffeine than a cup of coffee?

Does nexpresso have less caffeine than a manual expresso?

Does flavored nexpresso expresso have less caffeine than a non-flavored nexpresso expresso?

Does a five hour energy have more caffeine than a regular cup of premium coffee (aka bucks)?
